Every Monday at Noon: Praying for COVID-19

April 20, 2020

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

At this time, many of us are celebrating some of the holiest days of our faith traditions, including Passover, Easter, and Ramadan.  Sadly, we do so unable to be present with our communities and find the comfort of worshiping together as we all experience extraordinary uncertainty, isolation, and fear caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.  While we observe our virtual celebration of these Holy Days, the grip of this pandemic continues to take its toll, and may possibly even worsen.

As a means of sustaining the hope and joy of this holy season during the challenging days ahead, I invite you, on behalf of the Baltimore Interfaith Coalition, to weekly city-wide moment of prayer each Monday at noon.

This weekly gathering in spirit invites everyone in their own way to pause briefly at the same time to remember the presence of God and ask for His blessing on our City.  To mark the moment of prayer, we also invite you to share your participation via social media using the hashtag #BaltimorePrays.

As we continue to face down this pandemic, the need tor spiritual support grows even stronger.  This simple gesture of joining together weekly in spirit is one small way we can demonstrate our solidarity with one another and our collective faith in a loving God.
