The Shrine has engaging Faith Formation programs for adults, youth, and children. We offer opportunities throughout the year for parishioners and non-parishioners to participate in activities that will enrich and develop your faith. See the currently scheduled events below, which through the year include:
RCIA + Bible Studies + Book Discussions + PRAYER GROUP + Special Speakers Sessions
Steve Cox leads our Adult Faith Formation programs which at the core provides the RCIA Program to non-parishioners interested in becoming Catholic as well as parishioners and non-Catholics alike who want to learn more about the Catholic Faith. Contact Steve Cox to learn more about this annual program.
There are many other Adult Faith Formation programs offered through the year, again always open to parishioners or non-parishioners, Catholics, Christians, and other interested in learning about the Catholic faith. An up to date list of upcoming events can be found on our Events List page, filtered for Adult Faith Formation. Through the year, these include Bible Studies series, Book Discussions, and Speakers Sessions. There is also a Women's Prayer Group which meets every second and fourth week of the month in the Chapel.
High School Confirmation + CFC Youth
While there is some collaboration and shared participants between the annual Confirmation program and the CFC Youth programs, there are two distinct goals for the high school students involved in these programs. Bernetta Palasik runs the Confirmation program, which incorporates personal spirituality, prayer life, service, lessons on the Church, and guest speakers as students prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation.
CFC Youth for Christ, run by parishioner Alan Deiparine, is a family ministry of Couples for Christ (CFC), a Catholic charismatic community and family life movement. It owes its existence, identity, mission and vision to CFC as it exists as a partner in evangelizing the young. This extremely active and engaging organization has activities to keep youth close to Christ year-round.
Religious Education Classes + Children's Liturgy of the Word
Our youngest parishioners, starting at age 4, are called to participate in Children's Liturgy of the Word during 9am and 11:30 Masses. They will be called to the alter during the Liturgy of the Word, and will spend time together with our loving Catechists in the Undercroft for their own experience of the Gospel through songs, words, and crafts.
The Shrine's Religious Education Program (Sunday School) does require registration, and offers classes from September through May, with classes from Pre-K to 4th grade. Contact Bernetta Palasik for more information and registration forms.
