Santo Nino Celebration

Santo Nino

Join as we celebrate Masses for Santo Nino January 6-14 at 7pm with the final Feast Celebrated at the 5pm Mass on Saturday, January 15.

The devotion to the Santo Niño (Holy Child), an image of Jesus as a small boy typically dressed as a king, is a mainstay of Philippine Catholic life. In the Philippine’s devotions to him are part of every parish’s life, and in some places a major feast of the year.

Deepen your faith...

Share your love, peace and joy!

Join us as we celebrate Advent and our very own Filipino tradition of Simbang Gabi on December 15-23, 2021, 7:00 PM at The Shrine of the Sacred Heart Church, 5800 Smith Avenue, Mt. Washington, Baltimore, Maryland 21209.

Simbang Gabi is a Filipino Christmas tradition and a wonderful occasion for all of us to come together and share our faith. It is a series of nine dawn or dusk masses on the days leading up to Christmas.

It is also the spiritual preparation for Christmas and commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. The celebration is also seen as a way of requesting blessings from the Lord, as it is believed that if one completes the whole series of nine masses, their wishes will be granted.
