I'm New

Welcome to the Shrine of the Sacred Heart!

Thank you for coming to learn more about our Parish and we hope that you will visit us for worship and community events soon!  We have served the Catholic community in Mt. Washington for over 150 years and have a rich tradition of being an active multicultural parish.  To find opportunities to meet us and resources to learn about us, use the provided links to browse through our website.

Adult Faith Formation, Service, & Events

The Shrine offers a wide array of spiritual events to enrich your soul.  Shrine staff guides parishioners through Bible Studies, Book Discussions, and RCIA classes.  Speakers are brought in several times a year to discuss a range of topics related to the Catholic faith. Parishioners run prayer groups and other service based ministries such as the Social Justice Outreach which is responsible for food and supply collections for the area non-profits.  View our Calendar of Events or List of Upcoming Events to find a place to meet us.

Children & Youth

Our Children and Youth programs are passionately energetic.  The CFC Youth, one of the largest Filipino Catholic programs in Maryland is quite possibly THE most active group in our Parish.  Alongside the CFC Youth activities, parish children aged 4 and older can participate in Children's Liturgy of the Word during 9am and 11:30 masses and Pre-K to 4th grade students can join the Religious Education and sacrament formation programs.

Become a Registered Parishioner

If you are ready to officially join our parish, please complete a Registration Form and send the completed form to the email address indicated.  If you are interested in first becoming a Catholic or learning/re-learning about your Catholic faith, we invite you to join us for our RCIA Program.  Contact Steve Cox for more information.

To include the names of your loved ones on the altar and have November masses to be said for their memory, please use the envelope that was mailed to you to provide an offering and the names of those you wish to be remembered.
